Net Zero and Carbon Neutral Strategy

Since 2016, Brightspot has been quantifying and offsetting the greenhouse gas emissions associated with our operations. We are currently revisiting what carbon neutral and net zero means in the context of our own operations to ensure that we are a leader in the space. Stay tuned for the publication of our new report!

Canadian Greenhouse Gas Emissions Consulting Firm

Our corporate emissions include Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions from natural gas and electricity use at our offices across Canada and vehicle emissions for our Brightspot-owned and operated vehicle. Our Scope 3 emissions relate largely to air travel for client site visits or occasional team gatherings.

Our GHG emissions growth trajectory is largely attributed to our growth as a company, which is reflected in the number of employees. We saw a tangible decrease in emissions in 2020 due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on travel, including travel for client site visits. As concerns around the pandemic have subsided, our emissions profile has increased, but not to pre-pandemic levels due implementing efficiencies around work-related travel.
