THE OPPORTUNITY
We are currently seeking several full-time Climate Change Analysts to join us in our Calgary, Vancouver, and Toronto offices.
The primary role for Analysts will be to complete a wide range of tasks contributing to Brightspot’s GHG verification and reporting services, including completing engineering recalculations, assisting in report writing, and completing climate policy-related research. Work may also include supervised visits to remote sites, policy and protocol development, advising on environmental reporting and compliance, life cycle assessment, and much more.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science
- Passionate about climate change and sustainability
- Strong interpersonal, organization, and time management skills
- Excellent technical, analytical, writing, and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently in a deadline-oriented and project-based environment
- Desire to take on new challenges and continue professional development
- Ability to collaborate remotely across geographies and sectors
- Valid Driver’s Licence
IDEAL CANDIDATES MAY ALSO HAVE THE FOLLOWING ATTRIBUTES
- Strong experience designing and building Microsoft Excel spreadsheets
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Access, and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with Canadian provincial climate change regulations and policy is a strong asset
- Experience with GHG quantification is a strong asset
JOB DETAILS
The Climate Change Analyst position will be a full-time permanent position with occasional travel and field work within Canada. Our target start date for this position is Fall 2024. The position will be based in any of our three office locations, with potential occasional travel within Canada. Brightspot offers a competitive salary and benefits package; compensation will be commensurate with experience with an approximate range of $65,000-$75,000.
Full-time work with Brightspot consists of 40 hrs per week, with flexible daily start and end times. Overtime work is rare and compiled as banked time to be used for additional time off. As our team works from various locations across Canada, the successful candidate should expect to complete a significant portion of work using Microsoft Teams to collaborate and meet with remaining staff.
